Shepherdstown, WV--The deadline for the Shepherd University Foundation and Scarborough Society bus trip to the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is Monday, April 1. The full-size motor coach will leave Shepherd at 8 a.m. and will return to Shepherdstown at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18. The trip is open to the public.

At the National Constitution Center, visitors will see the performance "Freedom Rising" and the center's core exhibition "The Story of We the People," which tells the story of the Constitution, its history, and its contemporary relevance through more than 100 multimedia exhibits, film, photographs, text, sculpture, and artifacts.

Dr. Ray Smock, director of the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies at Shepherd, will accompany the trip and discuss his work in creating the exhibits at the museum. Smock's research helped create the exhibit of the life-size bronze statues depicting the moment of the signing of the Constitution in 1787.

The cost, including lunch in the Delegate's Café and the museum fee, is $75 per person. A special rate for full-time students is being offered at $50.
