Shepherdstown, WV--Beth Thomas, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, has been named coordinator of the Regents Bachelor of Arts program at Shepherd University's Martinsburg Center.

In her role as coordinator, Thomas will work with Martinsburg Center students completing their bachelor's degree through the R.B.A. program, a credit-for-work-experience program which assesses credit for experience through a portfolio review process and assists adult learners in selecting a program of study tailored to their career goals.

"Beth Thomas brings a wealth of experience to this new position," said Jim Klein, director of the Martinsburg Center. "Her extensive work background will allow her to assist adult students transitioning back to the classroom when the Center's doors are scheduled to open on June 17."

Thomas served as the coordinator of the Board of Governors and Applied Technology Degrees at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in Martinsburg for five years. She also oversaw student recruitment, advising, and curriculum development for the programs. Previously, she has served as a computer training specialist for the Center for Continuing Education at Hagerstown Community College, an instructor at Hagerstown Business College and Accutech, and a high school teacher in Virginia.

Thomas earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Bloomsburg University and holds certification to teach business.
