Shepherd to sponsor Morocco trip May 2014

Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University is sponsoring a trip to Morocco May 12-26, 2014 as part of the Sociology of Moroccan Culture class taught by Dr. Amy DeWitt, associate professor of sociology and chair of the Department of Sociology, and Emily Gross, director of the Academic Support Center. The trip is open to the public.
The cost of trip is $3,783 which includes airfare, guided tours in Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Volubilis, Fes, Beni Mellal, Ouzoud Falls, and Marrakech, and on-site orientation, including Moroccan Arabic language instruction (non-credit) for beginners.
Hotel accommodations (shared rooms) include one night in Casablanca, two nights in Rabat, one night in Beni Mellal, and three nights in Marrakech. Accommodations for the remaining seven days of the tour include the traveler’s choice of either housing in Meknes with local families (including meals and laundry service) or hotel accommodations for an additional $200.
Application deadline is Monday, February 3, 2014. Students wishing to earn academic credit must register for SOCI 399, Sociology of Moroccan Culture (tuition is not included in tour price).
