Shepherd names new director of admissions

Shepherdstown, WV--Matthew Huber has been named director of admissions at Shepherd University. He began his new duties on June 6.
Huber is responsible for achieving annual and long-range enrollment goals and assisting in the development of admissions marketing and communications strategies. Huber, who is a member of the enrollment management senior leadership team, reports to the vice president for enrollment management. As director, he will develop a comprehensive student recruitment plan for Shepherd.
"Matt brings to Shepherd extensive experience in analyzing historical enrollment data to determine trends and outreach," said Kimberly Scranage, vice president for enrollment management. "His expertise in developing and managing student recruitment communications and his hands-on experience with all aspects of the admissions process will make him a valued member of the enrollment management team."
Huber had been associate director of freshman admissions at Upper Iowa University in Fayette before joining the Shepherd staff. Previously, he served as assistant director of admissions at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an M.A. in educational administration (higher education administration emphasis), Huber received a bachelor of music education degree with special honors from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
He has served as the chair of the professional development committee and as a National Association for College Admission Counseling delegate-at-large for the Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling. Huber has served as the chair of the diversity, equity, and access committee of the Iowa Association for College Admission Counseling.
