Shepherd's Martinsburg Center, City of Martinsburg to sign Strategic Alliance agreement

Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University's Martinsburg Center and the City of Martinsburg, pending approval by the mayor and council, will formalize a Strategic Alliance Partnership Friday, June 14 at 9 a.m. at City Hall. Shepherd President Suzanne Shipley will join Mayor George Karos for the signing.
The Martinsburg Center's Strategic Alliance Partnership program, which allows in-state and out-of-state students to take classes with savings up to 25 percent off the current tuition at no cost to the employer. Employees of the City of Martinsburg will be eligible for the discounted tuition through the signed agreement.
"The mayor and the City Council were early supporters of Shepherd's move to Martinsburg," said Jim Klein, director of the Martinsburg Center. "We appreciate that early partnership and are happy that our relationship continues with the signing of the Strategic Alliance Partnership."
"The City looks forward to Shepherd University's presence in Martinsburg and Berkeley County," Mayor George Karos said. "It is our hope that the Strategic Alliance Partnership will afford City employees the opportunity to attend Shepherd University's Martinsburg Center. The City appreciates Shepherd University's decision in choosing the Martinsburg area, and we look forward to partnering with Shepherd for the many benefits Martinsburg employees will receive."
