Shepherd Department of Music Preparatory Division now accepting registrations for fall 2012 semester

Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Department of Music Preparatory Division is now accepting registrations for the fall 2012 semester. Students of all ages interested in taking individual lessons in woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, voice, guitar, bass guitar, strings (violin, viola, cello or double bass) theory, or jazz improvisation, are eligible for lessons with faculty and student instructors.
The registration fee for the preparatory division is $25 per semester. Preparatory instructors set their own weekly lesson rates, and teach half-hour and hour lessons depending upon student level. The musical discoveries classes will be offered during the fall semester for pre-school students and taught by Frauke Higgins. Class offerings this semester will include musical discoveries for students ages 18 months to three years, and Dalcroze Eurythmics for ages four to six years. The classes will be offered in two sessions of six weeks per session, with a registration fee of $72 per student, or both sessions for a total of 12 weeks at $144. Session one will meet on Fridays from September 14 through October 19, and session two will be on Fridays and meet from October 26 through December 6 (no class on October 23).
