Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University and Blue Ridge Community and Technical College have established a 2+2 articulation agreement which allows eligible students to seamlessly earn a baccalaureate degree in general business at Shepherd after earning their associate's degree at Blue Ridge CTC. Shepherd President Suzanne Shipley and Blue Ridge President Peter Checkovich will sign the agreement Tuesday, October 2 at 1 p.m. at Blue Ridge CTC's Martinsburg campus.

"We are pleased to partner with Blue Ridge CTC to strengthen the economic development of the Eastern Panhandle. This seamless path to a bachelor of science in business administration for Blue Ridge CTC graduates will equip the future leaders of our business communities," said Shepherd President Suzanne Shipley.

"Blue Ridge CTC is excited for this true 2+2 articulation. With this, Blue Ridge CTC and Shepherd are committing to a pathway that is a win for students. By increasing the educational level, our communities at large will see great benefit. Thus, this agreement is a success for all," said Blue Ridge President Peter Checkovich.

To be eligible, a student must have earned an A.S. in business degree from Blue Ridge CTC; applied for admission to Shepherd and been determined by Shepherd to meet all of the transfer student admissions requirements; and been admitted to Shepherd (all within 12 months of completion of the A.S. in business from Blue Ridge CTC). Upon admission to Shepherd, the student must be a degree-seeking student majoring in business administration with a concentration in general business.

"The 2+2 agreement is a landmark signing that will surely open doors for our students, ease their transitions, and demonstrate our collective commitment to student success," said Dr. Ann Marie Legreid, Shepherd's dean of the School of Business and Social Sciences. "We are particularly pleased to work hand in hand with another state school."
