Scarborough Society Art and Lecture Series sponsors New York Times bestselling author
ISSUED: 10 March 2011
Shepherdstown, WV--As part of the Shepherd University Scarborough Society's free lecture series, Shepherd faculty member and New York Times bestselling author Dr. Anders Henriksson will discuss his new book College in a Nutskull on Thursday, March 24 at 6 p.m. in the Scarborough Library reading room. The program is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the lecture.
Following up on his bestselling book Ignorance Is Blitz, Henriksson returns with College in a Nutskull, which contains even more outrageous material culled from the actual exam books of real college students. Covering all subjects of the core curriculum, College in a Nutskull is a parody of a course-by-course study guide right down to its spiral notebook complete with doodles. Featuring bloopers, blunders, and desperate attempts to bluff the right answer, it is a hilarious report on the state of American higher education.
Dr. Henriksson is chair of Shepherd University's Department of History, co-chair of the women's studies program, and teaches Russian and European history. He has also co-led study abroad trips to Europe in conjunction with Shepherd's World War I history course.
The Scarborough Society is a friends of the library organization established in 2002 by the Shepherd University Foundation. Its annual membership dues help support library acquisitions, technology, and programs. Membership is open to all interested supporters of the Scarborough Library.
