Shepherd signs transfer agreement with Northern Virginia Community College ISSUED: 8 September 2011 Shepherdstown, WV--The presidents of Shepherd University and Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) will sign a transfer agreement which provides financial and advising benefits and paves the way for a smoother transfer from NOVA to Shepherd. Under this agreement, NOVA students can receive academic advising to assist them in choosing appropriate courses for transfer, and students who meet specific GPA and credit requirements are eligible for a discounted tuition rate when enrolling at Shepherd. "We are pleased to offer this opportunity to the students of NOVA," said Dr. Suzanne Shipley, president of Shepherd University. "This program provides an additional opportunity for students to further their education. The advantage of this collaborative program for the student is the additional support both academically and financially." Graduates from NOVA who meet the program's requirements will be eligible for the discounted tuition starting with fall 2011. President Shipley and Dr. Robert Templin, Jr., president of Northern Virginia Community College, will participate in a signing ceremony for the transfer agreement this fall.
