Shepherd's Scarborough Lecture Series features former faculty member ISSUED: 31 March 2010 Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Scarborough Society continues the Art and Lecture Series on April 15 with Dr. Linda Tate. Tate will present a reading from her book Power in the Blood: A Family Narrative in the Scarborough Library Reading Room at 7 p.m. A reception will follow. Tate is a former faculty member of Shepherd and the University of Denver's writing program. She explores her Cherokee-Appalachian lineage through themes of poverty, discrimination, and family violence. The critically-acclaimed Power in the Blood has revolutionized historical documentation with its novel-like approach and details. Both the reading and reception are free and open to the public.
