Shepherd student presents senior voice recital August 28 ISSUED: 25 August 2009 Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University student Joel Ziler will be presenting his senior voice recital in the Frank Center Theater on Friday, August 28 at 7 p.m. The program will include selections from "Of Earth and Air and Rain" by Gerald Finzi, "Kindertotenlieder" by Gustav Mahler, and works by W.A. Mozart, Gaetano Donizetti, Reynaldo Hahn, Jay Lerner, Stephen Sondheim and David Yazbek. The event is free and open to the public. Ziler is the son of Darryl and Melinda Ziler of Berkeley Springs. Throughout his time at Shepherd University, Ziler has taken part in Masterworks Chorale, Chamber Singers, Men's Choir, Marching Band, and Wind Ensemble. He has also held lead roles in various theatrical productions. Ziler is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Upon the completion of his degree Joel plans to pursue a master's degree in choral conducting. -30-YOUNG |
