Shepherd's counseling services selects program to enhance comprehensive alcohol and drug strategy ISSUED: 21 August 2009 Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University Counseling Services is offering MyStudentBody, a comprehensive online program that is relevant to college health issues including alcohol, drugs, sexual health, tobacco, nutrition, and stress. MyStudentBody uses a three-prong approach to reach students, parents, and administrators with information to improve students' lives and wellness. MyStudentBody features online courses about alcohol and drugs that are used in schools nationwide as a requirement for first-year students. A certificate of completion after pre- and post-tests is awarded. Four other sections provide students with information for personal research and class papers. MyStudentBody also allows parents and families to help students face challenges related to alcohol and drugs. Parents are encouraged to visit MyStudentBody-Parent for strategies, videos, interactive tools, and other information to help prepare their children for college. MyStudentBody was developed with $6 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health. The program's content was developed by scientists and is continually updated with current health information. MyStudentBody is located at http://www.mystudentbody.com/.
