Shepherd University offers new health administration M.B.A. this fall

Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University will be offering a new concentration in health administration this fall as part of the master of business administration (M.B.A.) degree program.

Designed for those with clinical and non-clinical business backgrounds, the M.B.A. in health administration will prepare students for mid-level and upper-level leadership positions within the health care delivery system.

"Health care delivery represents one of the major industries in the region and at the national level," said Dr. Russell Porter, dean of graduate studies and continuing education. "Shepherd's new M.B.A. concentration in health administration will prepare students for many exciting management and leadership positions across the entire healthcare continuum."

In addition to courses that make up the M.B.A. core, students will take courses that cover health services administration and strategy, health policy and law, and health economics and finance. Students will complete a 120-hour internship as part of the program.

Shepherd also offers master's degree programs in teaching, curriculum and instruction, college student development and administration, and music education. Most graduate courses are offered in the evenings, on weekends, and during summer periods for working individuals.
