Graduate student to present research on Irish immigrants in the Civil War at Shepherd University ISSUED: 23 July 2009 Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University's George Tyler Moore Center for the Study of the Civil War will present Ryan W. Keating, the 2009 George M. Nethken graduate fellow, on Tuesday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Byrd Center for Legislative Studies. Keating, a student of Professor Paul A. Cimbala at Fordham University, New York, has spent eight weeks in the area conducting research for his Ph.D. dissertation. His presentation is titled "Immigrants and Americans: A Social History of Battery C, 1st West Virginia Light Artillery." The presentation is free and open to the public.
