Shepherd hosts Freedom Run October 3

(Shepherd hosts Freedom Run October 3)

Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University will host the Inaugural Freedom's Run on October 3.

The run consists of five events that span the four national parks of Harpers Ferry, C&O Canal, Antietam Battlefield, and Potomac Heritage Trail. The events are for runners and walkers of all abilities. Events include a half marathon through Antietam and the C&O Canal; a 5k and 10k crossing the Potomac and back on the C&O Canal; and a kids' fun run through historic Shepherdstown. The event will finish at the Shepherd University Ram Stadium with a post race party to be held on the Shepherd Midway and an Oktoberfest at the Bavarian Inn.

There will be a pasta dinner fundraiser hosted by the Shepherd HPERS Club for the Dr. Gonino Scholarship Fund from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 2, in the Butcher Center. Tickets are $10.
