Shepherd's Department of Contemporary Art and Theater display a one-night photographic exhibition

(Shepherd's Department of Contemporary Art and Theater display a one-night photographic exhibition)

Shepherdstown, WV--Image-makers from the Department of Contemporary Art and Theater at Shepherd University have designed a show titled "Extended Image." The exhibition will take place on Friday, December 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the historic Interwoven Mills Complex in Martinsburg.

Students involved include Kevin Rudisill, Harpers Ferry; Anna Justice, Harpers Ferry; Shanna Mueller, Martinsburg; Carissa Guyot, Charles Town; Hillary Russell, Charles Town; Rachel Garletts, Hedgesville; Christy Conrad, Fort Seybert; Lauren Brown, Williamsport, Maryland; LaJuan Bennett, Waldorf, Maryland; Challee Blackwelder, Manassas, Virginia; Ben Schonberger, Leesburg, Virginia; Kate Farrell, Centreville, Virginia; Lindsay Ives, Ashburn, Virginia; Austin Phillips, Blacksburg, Virginia; Kyle Schmitz, Springfield, Virginia; and Holly White, Stephens City, Virginia.

The exhibition is directed by Stephanie Robbins, assistant professor of photography/computer imagery, and displays the work of Robbins' senior-level photography majors. "Extended Image" explores ways in which the traditional forms of photography can be expanded to include video, sound, installation, and performance. The work is highly individual and collectively breaks free of the standard white mat, black frame.
