Shepherd presents "Dead Man's Cell Phone" on October 30 ISSUED: 15 October 2009 Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University Theater will present Sarah Ruhl's "Dead Man's Cell Phone" directed by Bryce Britton, adjunct professor of theater and M.F.A. graduate from Ohio University. A preview of "Dead Man's Cell Phone" will be held Thursday, October 29 at 8 p.m. with regular shows beginning on Friday, October 30 at 8 p.m. Evening shows include October 31, November 4-7, and November 11-14 at 8 p.m. Matinees will be held on November 1 and 8 at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Studio Theater in Sara Cree Hall. Tickets are free for Shepherd students, $8 for faculty, and $10 for the general public. "Dead Man's Cell Phone" begins with an incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet cafe and a stranger at the next table who has had enough--and a dead man with a lot of loose ends. The play follows the odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world. Costume designer is CATF's associate producing director Peggy McKowen, light and set designer is CATF's production manager Patrick Wallace, and sound designer is CATF's assistant production manager Christina Smith. The show will feature Shepherd students Heather Barton, Ashli Cheshire, Tommy Dukeman, Courtney Frye, Tara Keller, Evan Mackenzie, Caitlin Rausch, Colin Savage, Marta Senn, and Daniel Stevens, who will be stage managed by Amy Tatina and Joshua Riese.
