Three Shepherd programs are named Programs of Distinction

(Three Shepherd programs are named Programs of Distinction)

Shepherdstown, WV--Three Shepherd University academic programs--contemporary art and theater, music, and social work--have been approved by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission (WVHEPC) as Programs of Distinction.

The programs were selected for their roles in enhancing institutional outreach, institutional mission, and service to the community by Shepherd's deans and the vice president for academic affairs in accordance with the standards set by the WVHEPC. The Programs of Distinction designations are in effect until 2012.

The designations are part of Shepherd University's Institutional Compact submitted to the WVHEPC as part of the statewide master plan for public higher education institutions. Shepherd's Institutional Compact is available online at www.shepherd.edu under the Announcements section on the home page.
