Shepherd University course offers limited seating to the public for Civil War tours ISSUED: 31 August 2009 Shepherdstown, WV--A limited number of seats are available to the public on the field trip buses that will visit nearby Civil War sites as part of the Civil War America, 1850-1865 course offered this semester at Shepherd University, taught by Dr. Mark Snell, director of the GTM Center for the Study of the Civil War. Two different tours will be offered. On Wednesday, September 30, the group will visit Civil War Baltimore, including a tour of the USS Constellation and Fort McHenry. On Wednesday, November 4, the tour will cover the Gettysburg Campaign, including all three days of the battle. The cost for each tour is $50 per person. The fees include transportation to and from Shepherdstown on an air-conditioned, restroom-equipped bus, and a full-day, expert-guided tour. Lunch is not included, but a lunch stop will be made near convenient restaurants. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
