Shepherd presents opera workshop September 18 and 19 ISSUED: 15 September 2009 Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Department of Music will hold an opera workshop to bring Aaron Copland's "The Tender Land" to life on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at 8 p.m. in the Frank Center Theater. "The Tender Land" is a single night in the life of a family struggling in post-WWII middle America and the dreams of young Laurie, about to graduate from high school and go off to college. The Shepherd opera workshop will present the "The Tender Land," directed by Joseph Yates, with musical direction by Dr. Erik Reid Jones. Admission and seating for the production is on a first-come first-served basis. The box office will open one hour prior to each performance. General admission is $10, $5 for students 18 and under, and free to Shepherd students with their Rambler ID and Friends of Music MAC Cardholders.
