Shepherd offers Historic Clothing Design class this summer

Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University will be offering a three-credit Historic Clothing Design class (FACS 499), from May 20 to June 22, Mondays through Thursdays at 10:20 a.m. until 12:25 p.m.
The course is designed to examine fashion from the Middle Ages to 20th century. Students will choose a historic period, research the clothing of that period, plan an outfit and either make a costume, reproduce a piece, or restore a vintage piece of clothing. Students should have some knowledge about sewing and drafting although advanced experience is not necessary. This class may substitute for FACS 102 Apparel Construction Techniques.
