Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University dedicated the Howard N. Carper, Jr. Learning Commons on October 5, in honor of the late Dr. Howard N. Carper, Jr., longtime Shepherd administrator, former faculty member, and alumnus.

Pictured above with a portrait of Dr. Carper are (l. to r.) Shepherd President Suzanne Shipley, Jean Smith Carper, and daughter Lisa Carper, both of Shepherdstown.

The Howard N. Carper, Jr. Learning Commons, located on the first floor at the Scarborough Library, houses the Academic Support Center, Center for Teaching and Learning, First-Year Experience and Common Reading Program, Instructional Technology, and the Regents Bachelor of Arts Program offices.
