Reservations for Scarborough Society tour of the new Capitol Visitor Center due May 10 ISSUED: 26 March 2009 Shepherdstown, WV--Reservations for the Scarborough Society and Shepherd University Foundation's June bus tour to the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C., are needed by May 10. The bus will leave Shepherd University at 9:30 a.m. and return around 5 p.m. The trip will include lunch at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, a self-guided tour of the center, and guided tour of the Capitol. Tickets to the Capitol Visitor Center have been provided by the office of Senator Robert C. Byrd. The cost of the tour, including lunch, is $65 per person. The trip is open to the public. The Capitol Visitor Center represents the largest expansion of the U.S. Capitol in the two-century history of the greatest symbol of democracy in the world. The underground addition contains exhibits, a gift shop, office space, two auditoriums, and new vistas of the Capitol. For more information, contact Phyllis Smock at 304-264-0560.
