Shepherd holds sneak preview of Ken Burns film September 10 ISSUED: 4 September 2009 Shepherdstown, WV--Shepherd University will host a preview of Ken Burns' new documentary "America's Best Idea" on Thursday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies Auditorium. The documentary will premiere on PBS later this month. "America's Best Idea" tells the story of the national park system through human stories. The event will be co-hosted by Kevin Brandt, superintendent of the C&O Canal National Historical Park, and Dr. Keith Alexander, visiting assistant professor of environmental studies at Shepherd University. The film and discussion are free and open to the public. The evening's activities are made possible by the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies, Institute for Environmental Studies, and Office of Student Community Service and Service Learning. -30-YOUNG |
