Shepherd University Performing Arts Series begins September 11 with Arte Flamenco

Shepherdstown, WV--The Performing Arts Series at Shepherd University (PASS) begins its season on Friday, September 11 with Natalie Monteleon's acclaimed Spanish dance and music ensemble, Arte Flamenco, at 8 p.m. in the Frank Center Theater. The event is co-sponsored by Shepherdstown Music and Dance.

General admission is $15; $12 for senior citizens; $10 for Shepherd University staff and Shepherdstown Music and Dance members; $8 for children under 18; and free for Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID. Tickets can be purchased in the Shepherd Bookstore or at www.shepherdbook.com.

Other events during the PASS season include the Appalachian Writer-In-Residence, Silas House, on Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2; the 14th Annual Appalachian Heritage Festival on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 at 8 p.m. in the Frank Center Theater; Upper Potomac Celtic Weekend Cape Breton Concert on Friday, October 16 at 8 p.m. in the Frank Center Theater; Woven Harmony Residency on Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 6; Circo Aereo's Espresso on Tuesday, November 10 at 8 p.m. in the Frank Center Theater; and the Richmond Ballet on Friday, March 5, 2010, at 8 p.m. in the Frank Center Theater.

The PASS events are made possible by the Shepherd University Student Government Association. Additional support is provided by the West Virginia Humanities Council, West Virginia Division of Culture and History with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts, Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
