Shepherd Bookstore to host student art show and sale

(Shepherd Bookstore to host student art show and sale)

Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Bookstore will host "Visual Literacy" featuring the artwork of Shepherd students from Thursday, April 10 through Friday, April 25. The student art show and sale will begin with an artist's reception on April 10 from 3-6 p.m. in the Bookstore.

Students will be donating all proceeds to the Shepherd University Foundation in memory of fellow art student Sara Beth Chroussis. The Bookstore will also be sponsoring a Best of Show scholarship. Everyone attending the art show and sale will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite piece of artwork and the artists with the highest number of votes will donate the $500 prize to the Foundation in memory of Chroussis.

The Department of Contemporary Art and Theater is designed to provide students with a diversified experience in art. Students are challenged and encouraged to grow creatively and professionally as artists, graphic designers, photographers, and teachers. This show is the culmination of their development in the world of contemporary art and a testament to the talented professors that have nurtured their students artists.
