Scholarship named in memory of Shepherd University professor ISSUED: 14 October 2008 Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Foundation has announced the establishment of a scholarship in memory of E. William Johnson, Shepherd University economics professor and Shepherd University Foundation Board of Directors treasurer. The endowment supporting business and economics majors was started by his wife, Lisa Clem Johnson of Harpers Ferry. Her husband passed away in February 2008. Johnson taught for 36 years at Shepherd, also serving as chairman of the Division of Business Administration for several years. He was a valued member of the executive committee of the Shepherd University Foundation. He was a member of the Bank of Charles Town Board of Directors and was a past member of the Board of Managers of Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Johnson graduated from The Priory School (St. Anselm's), Washington, D.C., in 1962. He was granted a degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, in 1966 and earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Virginia in 1974. He joined the Shepherd faculty in 1971.
