(Shepherd's baseball to hold Dinner on the Diamond fund-raiser Sept. 7)

Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Alumni Association and Outback Steakhouse will hold a Dinner on the Diamond fund-raiser for the Shepherd University baseball team Thursday, September 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Fairfax Field. Outback of Martinsburg is donating and serving food for the event including steak, chicken, rice, baked potatoes, honey wheat bread, and salad.

The 2006-07 baseball team will be in uniform greeting guests, serving as parking attendants, and waiting tables. A special feature of the event will be the sale of game jerseys bearing the Shepherd logo and player number. Dinner on the Diamond event t-shirts will also be available for purchase.

Now in its second year, Dinner on the Diamond was attended last year by 150 alumni, players' families, and friends of baseball and raised more than $8,000 for the baseball program.

Tickets for the event are $50 for adults and $15 for children 6-12 ($40 of each adult ticket and $5 of each child ticket price are tax deductible). Tickets may be purchased by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations at 304/876-5157. The public is welcome.
