HOMECOMING 2005: BACK IN THE HAPPY DAYS Monday, October 24, Spirit Day Tuesday, October 25 3 p.m. Annual Sports Competition. Who will be the ultimate team and walk away with a prize? Come cheer for your team on the Midway. Wednesday, October 26 Thursday, October 27 Friday, October 28 7:30 p.m. 1955 Undefeated Football Team Reunion Reception, Dining Hall, Lower Level. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Shepherdıs only undefeated athletic team in program history and the first WVIAC conference title in any sport. We are happy to host them during Homecoming for a variety of reunion activities including this special reception. Saturday, October 29 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Scarborough Library Tours. Members of the Scarborough Society will be on hand to lead tours of the expanded and renovated Scarborough Library. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Little House Tours. Take the opportunity (weather permitting) to tour the Little House. Volunteers will be on hand to greet you and answer questions about the house, its history, and the recent restoration. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shepherd University Bookstore Welcomes Alumni. Youıll find a great selection of gift ideas and new Shepherd University items. You can also visit online at www. shepherdbook.com. 10:45 a.m. Homecoming Parade begins at 10:45 a.m. on German Street and will wind its way through town. Grand Marshals in the parade will be captains from the 1955 Undefeated Football Team, Barry Hall, George Hott, and John Shearer. Find a spot along the way to see all the action and celebrate Homecoming 2005. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Multicultural Reception, Ramıs Den Bistro, Student Center. This event is free and open to all. For more information, please contact Larry Dowdy at 304/876-5174 or e-mail him at ldowdy@shepherd.edu. 11:30 a.m. Activities on the Midway, including inflatable games for the whole family, reunion tables, and more immediately following the parade. 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Alumni Pig Roast on the Midway. Looking for a great lunch where you can reunite with follow alumni? Join us on the Midway for the third annual Pig Roast and all-you-can-eat picnic. Cost is $5 per person and students are free with their Rambler card. This event will be hosted by the Shepherd University Alumni Association and the Dining Hall. The 1955 Undefeated Football Team will be introduced before the game to honor them for their achievements at Shepherd. 1 p.m. Game Time. Meet friends, alumni, and students at the stadium to cheer on the Rams as they challenge West Liberty State. Tickets: adults, $6; students and senior citizens, $3; children six and under, free; upper reserve seats, $16; and lower reserve seats, $11. All tickets will be available at the gate or you can purchase them in advance by calling Chip Ransom at 304/876-5228. Halftime. Crowning of Homecoming King and Queen and their court. Kiss the Ram contest winner will be announced (the winner gets a free kiss from Shepherd Universityıs mascot Livingston). Homecoming Spirit Awards announced! 4 p.m. Basketball Scrimmage between WVIAC Tournament Champs of 1992 and the Shepherd Rams Menıs Basketball Team, following the Homecoming game. Event is free and open to the public. |
