Videos and Webcasts

The Office of Admissions is working with the Department of Mass Communications this summer to create promotional videos and webcasts for new and prospective students.

These professional-quality videos will be featured on the Shepherd Web site as well as an upcoming Shepherd YouTube.com channel. New and prospective students will be e-mailed links to these videos to encourage them to participate in certain events or to inform them of upcoming programs.

This summer, admissions counselor Kelly Pannill, assistant professor of communications Jason McKahan, and Shepherd mass communication student Dillon Hawkins will be working with faculty and staff members throughout the University to create at least eight initial videos: Advisement and Registration, Orientation, First-Year Admissions Procedures, Transfer Admissions Procedures, Campus Visitation, Academic Programs, Athletics and Intramurals, and Dual Admissions Transfer Agreements with Hagerstown Community College and Frederick Community College.

Over the next year, the Office of Admissions hopes to create similar videos with topics such as financial aid, honors and scholars programs, residence life, campus life and activities, multicultural student affairs, and disability support services.
