Moving On! The Office of Admissions and the Enrollment Management Division would like to take a moment and thank Sandi Van Metre for her dedication to Shepherd, Enrollment Management, and the Office of Admissions. Sandi will be retiring from her position at the end of May. Sandi has worked at Shepherd for 24 years, 19 with the Office of Admissions. Sandi started working in admissions in 1988 as the office manager. She worked closely with student tour guides and handled all the daily operations, along with countless questions from prospective students. In 1993 Sandi received a promotion to Associate Director of Admissions. Her primary role was working with transfer students and community colleges. During her time at Shepherd, Sandi has helped thousands of transfer students smoothly make the transition to Shepherd. In 2005, Sandi's role changed again and her main focus has since been working on admissions policy and assisting admissions counselors with transfer evaluation and other training as well as working with international students. She also serves on a number of campus committees, including Strategic Planning, Curriculum and Instruction, and Admissions and Credits. Sandi will be greatly missed in our office. Her years of experience and vast knowledge of articulation agreements, college accreditation and course evaluation can't be replaced. Sandi is going to remain in the Martinsburg area and will be working with another department on campus part-time. She will also be enjoying the company of her 8-month old granddaughter as much as possible. Please wish Sandi the best of luck! |
