Apply NOW for Financial Aid for the 07-08 year! Students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine their eligibility for need-based aid. If a student received financial aid in the current year, he/she simply needs to complete a Renewal FAFSA, which is even faster. It is recommended that the application be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The online process has edits and skip logic in place to ensure an increased rate of accuracy. Everyone is encouraged to complete the application because there is no charge for applying. Also, if the student wants to be considered for all scholarships, including those that are need-based, a FAFSA must be submitted. Students should be encouraged to include Shepherd University's federal school code, 003822, to ensure their results are sent to us. The FAFSA must be received by the federal processor on or before March 1 to be considered for maximum need based aid, including the WV Higher Education Grant. Don't wait for tax returns! Instead, an estimate can be provided now with corrections made later when the tax returns are officially submitted. |
