Important Facts
- Financial aid recipients who withdraw on or before March 10, 2012 will owe a portion of their financial aid back to the federal and/or state programs. The institution will repay their debt for them so that they can enroll the next term; however, they will owe Shepherd University.
- If a student who began attendance does not officially withdraw and fails to earn a grade in at least one course, he/she is considered to have unofficially withdrawn for financial aid purposes. He/she will owe a return of funds. An F is considered earned; however, an F is also considered in attempted hours for Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- May graduates need to complete Exit Counseling if they have ever borrowed through any loan program throughout their collegiate career. This can be accomplished at www.nslds.ed.gov and should be completed before graduation to avoid a hold on transcripts. Exit Counseling ensures that borrowers are aware of their rights and responsibilities as they enter repayment.
