Veterans' Education and Transition Services Committee (V.E.T.S.) In anticipation of an increase in enrollment of student-veterans due to the passage of the Post 9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Act of 2008 which became effective August 1, 2009, the V.E.T.S committee was formed which includes staff and faculty from all areas of the university; some are veterans themselves or have extensive knowledge of VA programs. The committee was charged with reviewing current policies, practices and infrastructure to service this population, determine effectiveness/efficiency, recommend areas of improvement, identify potential outreach sources, develop marketing plan, etc. to ensure that we were prepared to address any unique needs this group of students may present and provide them with the best possible service.
