SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — A lecture on what life is like in Ukraine by a visiting professor from that country is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, at 6 p.m. in Shepherd University’s Erma Ora Byrd Hall auditorium. Dr. Nataliia Borysenko, associate professor in the Department of Foreign Languages for the Chemistry and Physics Schools at the Institute of Philology at Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University, Ukraine, will deliver the speech, titled “Ukraine Today: People’s Hopes, Expectations, and Reality.”
Borysenko, who currently serves as a Fulbright Fellow in the College of Education at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, will visit Shepherd April 6-7. She will also spend time in classes and conduct an English as a second language workshop with faculty and tutors in the Academic Support Center.
The Paul and Lisa Welch Distinguished Awards Program is sponsoring Borysenko’s visit to Shepherd, with assistance from the Fulbright Visiting Scholars Program and Outreach Lecturing Fund.
