Registering non-computer/non-smart devices for use in your Residence hall room.
Laptops and desktops with Wi-Fi cards; smart phones; devices such as iPods, iPads and similar Android devices; Chrome books and other similar devices which can talk to our Wi-Fi network may be registered without using this form. Please contact the IT Service Desk if you need help.
This form is for devices such as game consoles, smart TVs, and Rokus which you want connected in your residence hall room. These devices will not connect to our Wi-Fi network as they do not run the necessary protocol, WPA2-Enterprise, necessary for connecting. You must use an Ethernet (wired) connection to connect these devices to our network.

The first step is to connect an Ethernet cable between your device you want to register and a working Ethernet wall jack in your room. After you do so, power your device on and look at the network settings menu for the Ethernet’s MAC address. The MAC or physical address for your Ethernet connection should in the form of xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx or xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx with each x being either a letter between A and F, or a number between 0 and 9. Make note of that MAC address for later.
Note: Please give us at least three business days to register your device, especially the first week or two of classes.
