What are the Swing Cats?

Shepherd College Swing Cats is an offically recognized organization at Shepherd started spring semester 1999 and we are also an official non-profit organization. Our purpose is to get people together in one place who love to swing, or who want to learn and put on the music and DANCE!

We dance from 8:30-10:30 in the Ram's Den of the College Center every Monday. We hold an official meeting where we talk about upcoming events, campus happenings and other official stuff at 8:00pm in the Ram's Den. Our dues are currently $3 a semester. If you would like to sign up and you are a Shepherd College student, you can pay your dues before the dance on Monday nights or give them to Alison, our treasurer, at any meetings or dances.

We also take trips to local swing dances in Fredrick, D.C. and Baltimore. They have always been a blast!

No experience is necessary to attend dances and you don't need a partner. We have people dancing that are very new to swing and also people who have taken swing dance classes before, but no one is professional...yet. :)
