Shepherd University Research Corporation Mission Statement

The Shepherd University Research Corporation (SURC) is committed to fostering and supporting the scholarly and/or service activities of all members of the campus community. In working closely with faculty, students and staff, SURC provides expertise and guidance in identification of funding sources, proposal preparation, submission, and management of reporting processes for funded proposals. In looking beyond the campus community, SURC supports efforts of the region by assisting in the transfer of knowledge and technology between stakeholders.

We believe that:

• sponsored projects provide crucial support to teaching, scholarship, and service.
• a campus culture encouraging seeking and securing external funding supports the mission of Shepherd University.
• grants that support the mission, values, and vision of Shepherd University should receive the same level of support.
• all sponsored projects should conform to the highest ethical and professional standards and remain compliant with all governing regulations.
