SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University Visual Arts Collective, a student organization in the Department of Contemporary Art and Theater, is hosting its third annual Art Market on Friday, December 4, from 3-7 p.m. at the Center for Contemporary Arts Phase I. Through the market, which is free and open to the public, students will offer their artwork and crafts for sale.

Rhonda Smith, art department chair, said the event gives students a real-life opportunity to market their work.

“We think it’s a great experience for the students because they have to talk about their work and figure out a pricing for their work,” Smith said. “In doing all of that, it establishes for them some understanding of the complexities of actually putting your work out there, talking to people about it, and then selling it.”
