2014-2015 Executive Board
The Student Government Association of Shepherd University works to establish a more effective and representative student government, to encourage interest and participation in responsible student government, to protect the rights of students, and to initiate, direct and promote students' activities designed to enhance the welfare of the entire student body.
PRESIDENT: Logan Sigley
Logan Sigley is a senior majoring in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry. Logan enjoys playing basketball, has two siblings, and wants to work in a laboratory after college. He served last year as the SGA Treasurer.
VICE PRESIDENT: Graham Scott
Graham Scott is a junior majoring in political science and a minoring in marketing. Outside of class, he can be found playing racquetball, tennis, or falling asleep in the library. He is active in Shepherd's YoungLife and Ratio Christi clubs. He plays French horn in various Shepherd University ensembles. His hometown is Buckhannon, West Virginia, and he graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School before coming to Shepherd.
SECRETARY: Sherie Washington
Sherie Washington is a native of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and a junior majoring in social work. Upon graduation she would like to become a medical social worker serving in a hospital setting. She is a member of Sistaz organization at Shepherd. She enjoys music and relaxing with friends.
TREASURER: Jobin Tharakan
Jobin Tharakan is a senior from Feasterville, PA. He majors is biology with a pre-medical concentration. He is part of the MedStep Program, and also a member of Tri-Beta. At home he is an active member of his church community and youth group by participating in basketball tournaments and choir festivals. His goal is to give back to the community by becoming the best doctor he can be.
CAMPUS RELATIONS OFFICER: Caitlin O'Connor
Caitlin O'Connor is a sophomore nursing major from Baltimore, Maryland. Along with being on the Student Government she is involved in Alpha Phi Omega. Her two dreams in life after college are to work in shock trauma and to be a mother.
PARLIAMENTARIAN: Cassie Nipe
Cassie Nipe is in her senior year of the Biochemistry and Honors program at Shepherd. During her time on campus she has been very involved, having worked under the Academic Support Center, Residence Life, and Student Affairs. Cassie is currently a Resident Assistant in Kenamond and member of the Chemistry fraternity. She aspires to be a professional in scientific researcher and would eventually like to lead her own research team.
