Student Government Association

Executive Board

 

President:

Monet Johnson is the Shepherd University Student Government President for 2009-2010. She is currently a Senior Political Science major and a Women's Studies minor. She is a member of Delta Zeta and a RA in Birch. Monet is on the Student Life Council and participates in numerous other committees and events.

Office Hours: Tuesday: 11am-12:15pm, 2pm-4:15pm

Vice President:

Daniel Bascom is a junior sport and event management major.  On top of being the SGA VP, he is the football team's Equipment Manager, he works at the library, and is an RA.

Office Hours: Tuesday 2pm-5pm

Secretary:

Deborah Young is currently a junior here at Shepherd. She is the Student Government secretary for the 2009-2010 school year. Her major is Recreation & Leisure with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation. "My dream is to work with children with disabilities such as autism & down syndrome."

Office Hours: Tuesday 9am-11am, 3pm-4:15pm

Treasurer:

Rex Barkdoll is a fifth year Mass Communications Major. He has dreams of taking over the world with a paperclip and four bananas, but worries that the bananas won't survive the journey. If his plans for world domination don't work out, he will pursue his dream to travel to Santorini Greece.

Office Hours: Tuesday 9am-12pm

Parlamentarian:

Molly Holden is a senior Social Work major. She is a member of the Social Work Association where she has served two semesters as the SGA Representative and is currently a Co-President. Molly is a member of ALLIES and is currently a Co-President. Molly is also the NASW BSW Student Representative on the National Board, serves on the Social Work Advisory Board and is the Parliamentarian on the Student Government Association Executive Board.

Office Hours: Tuesday 9am-12pm, Thursday 2:30-4pm

External Affairs:

Joel Heslop is one crazy gringo. He is a Mass Communications Major who enjoys playing water polo while on the back of a dolphin. He is constantly playing a fife and is followed around by a hoard of mesmerized school children all wanting candy.

Advocate for Diversity:

Chris Bryant is a senior Sociology major with a Women's Studies minor. He has been a member of ALLIES since Fall 2007 where he's served four semesters as the secretary, two semesters as the SGA Representative, and is currently a Co-President. Chris is currently a member of the Multicultural Leadership Team, Vice President of AKD, a member of the Diversity and Equity Committee, a member of Student Life Council, and the Advocate for Diversity on the Student Government Association Executive Board.

Office Hours: Tuesday: 2:30pm-4pm, Thursday 2:30-4pm
