Help improve the quality of writing at Shepherd University
by encouraging your students to seek free tutoring
 in the Academic Support Center ~ 114 Knutti Hall

 YOU make the difference in student patronage of the Writing Center.  Our surveys indicate that the majority of our patrons visit because their teachers encouraged them in one of the following ways: 1. Inviting a tutor to give a presentation.  2. Providing written information about the Writing Center on the class syllabus and/or paper assignments.  3.  Announcing Writing Center services during class lectures.

  Some students are more lost than lazy.  Many students put off writing papers until the last minute because they doubt their own abilities—not because they are “lazy.”  Tutors can help your students develop new skills and confidence in writing.  Please consider inviting a tutor to give a SHORT in-class presentation on our services.
