The Shepherd University Writing Center is located on the first floor of Scarborough Library and is a branch of the Academic Support Center.

We offer a variety of services to help Shepherd students improve their writing skills and increase their grades on writing assignments.

Before signing up for an appointment, be aware of what we do. Our tutors are trained to:

- Review students' writing for clarity, structure, and correctness
- Help clarify commonly used documentation styles such as MLA, APA, and Turabian
- Assist in the comprehension and analysis of literary or historical works
- Give useful advice for students who struggle with writing and / or reading comprehension

 

Schedule an Appointment with a Tutor

Starting in the Fall 2008 semester, we are moving our scheduling to an online format. Click the link above and you will be taken to a log-in page. If you are a first-time user, you will be asked to register and complete a short profile. After that initial registration, you will only need to log-in to the schedule with your User ID and password. Once you log-in to the schedule page, you will see a daily schedule of all of our tutors indicating what appointment times they have available. Follow the directions on the screen to reserve an appointment.
