MEET THE WRITING TUTORS
Chris Goodell

I’m a 24 year old 5’9” gorgeous hunk with dark flowing hair and deep eyes that you could lose yourself in. Along with walking along moonlit deserted beaches and writing up sonnets, (yeah right!) I am an avid whitewater kayaker/rafter in the summer and snowboarder in the winter. I have worked as a whitewater guide now for over 6 years, and I speak Spanish fluently. I am a junior Spanish major and tutor in Spanish and English. I have tutored at the ASC for 3 years. Don’t let that fool you though. I’m way cool.

I am a not-so-photogenic senior English major commuting from Martinsburg. I used to be a psychology major, but switched after learning that science just isn't my bag. Thanks be to Tom Patterson for that one--he taught me to value subjectivity and question the absoluteness of objectivity. Far from being the overliterary poet type as a result of all this, I'm a philosopher at heart: I have a clear, organized understanding of things that I crave to spark in others. I love to explain the beautiful flow of logic that constitutes both writing and statistics. I find lots of things interesting, so I take classes all over the map, but I'm ready to learn outside academia for a while. Beyond scholarly pursuits, I'm a family-oriented Italian-American who loves cheese, lake monsters, classic country music, and pwning noobs on Rock Band and Guild Wars. Humility is my greatest virtue (next to sarcasm)--just ask the other tutors.
