Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Dr. King was a large proponent of service to strengthen communities and achieve common goals. He once said that “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.” In his honor, Congress initiated the King Day of Service in 1994 with the goal to transform the federal holiday into a national “Day On, Not A Day Off.” We usually collaborate with the Multicultural Leadership Team to create a day of service in the local community. This is a chance for students to develop fellowship while honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
