Service Learning
The office encourages, assists and fosters the incorporation of Service Learning into all areas of academic study by working with students and faculty. Through community collaboration students are able to make an intentional connection between the information learned in the traditional setting of the classroom and an actual face or need in the community. For example, education majors are matched with at-risk students; English majors write and design brochures and websites for non-profit agencies and create children’s versions of works of literature.
