Salon Series to feature January 11 concert with award-winning pianist

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University Department of Music Salon Series, sponsored by Jefferson Security Bank, continues on Thursday, January 11, at 8 p.m. in the Frank Center W.H. Shipley Recital Hall with a performance by Shepherd alumnus Jason Solounias. An award-winning pianist, Solounias will perform a program that will include Villa-Lobos’s “Bachianas Brasileiras,” Schumann’s “Symphonic Studies,” Debussy’s “Image Book,” and Stravinsky/Agosti’s “Firebird Suite.”

Solounias has performed across the United States and Europe, including at the Kennedy Center, Southwark Cathedral, Millennium Stage, the Lincoln Theater, Steinway Society of Puerto Rico, Junior Soto Recital Hall, Arts Club of Washington, WETA, Church of Epiphany Concert Series, and Lisner Auditorium. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Trinity Chamber Orchestra and the Pan American Symphony Orchestra.
