Shepherd University Student Health Center is a certified participant in the West Virginia Family Planning Program (WVFPP) Services provided through this program are free of charge; enrollment is required.

The WVFPP, with the Health Clinic, provide annual examinations for pap smear and gynecological check-ups. In the event of pregnancy, referrals are made to local providers or the student's own healthcare provider. Shepherd University does not offer pre-natal care.

• EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION OFFERED IS "PLAN B" - AN ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE (CAN NOW BE PURCHASED OVER THE COUNTER OTC)
• DURING SUMMER SEMESTER: THE HEALTH CENTER OFFERS BIRTH CONTROL PICK-UP TO EXISTING WVFPP PARTICIPANTS ONLY
