Family Planning Services

Shepherd University Student Health Center is a certified participant in the West Virginia Family Planning Program (WVFPP) Services provided through this program are free of charge; enrollment is required.

The WVFPP, with the Health Clinic, provide annual examinations for pap smear and gynecological check-ups. In the event of pregnancy, referrals are made to local providers or the student's own healthcare provider. Shepherd University does not offer pre-natal care.

Emergency contraception offered is "Plan B" - an oral contraceptive (can now be purchased over the counter OTC)

During Summer semester: The Health Center offers birth control pick-up to existing WVFPP participants ONLY
