| Two
initiatives have been undertaken by the Student Affairs Office
to help commuters become more aware of the extent and variety
of campus programming and the richness of student life at Shepherd.
Trying to piece together what is happening on campus from the
multitude of posters here and there can be challenging.
Though flyers often help, these initiatives below organize and
deliver information directory to commuters. Our hope is
that, once informed, more commuters will become deeply involved
and invested in the Shepherd Community!
1) The "Commuter Connection" email project.
Send your email address to Olesha Haskett (Special Programs and Commuter Affairs Programming Assistant) at ohasket01@shepherd.edu and receive extensive information about upcoming campus events, activities, and happenings. This update comes directly form the Commuter Affairs department of the Student Center, so no product advertisements or inappropriate content is sent to the connected commuter. Dates, times, places, and other pertinent information regarding music performances, plays, colloquia, sporting events, conferences, some paid or grant leadership opportunities, etc. are set forth in the commuter connection emails. If you have additional questions please drop by the Student Affairs Office.
2) The Commuter Board in the Ram's
Den
The Commuter Board is now a permanent
fixture in the Ram's Den. Located on the wall opposite the
main entrances to the Den, this large white dry erase board can't
be missed. Upcoming campus events, activities, and
happenings are listed in bright colors for all commuters (and
students) to see.
